Follow Your Dreams

One of my dreams came true today. A book I wrote is going to be on shelves in bookstores nationwide. But it didn’t make it there just because of me. It took a team to make this dream happen – critique partners, mentors, SCBWI speakers, my agent (Mandy Hubbard!), my lovely editor (Brian Farrey!), and an entire team of amazing people at Flux.

I am thankful for the reviews from Kirkus, Publishers Weekly, and book bloggers who took the time to read Riptide and share their insights.

Riptide can be found at independent bookstores, Barnes and Noble, and through online outlets.

So, what’s up with the title of this blog – Follow Your Dreams?

I love encouraging people and today I’m wanting to cheer you on.

I want to encourage you to pursue you dreams passionately, wholeheartedly, and without reserve.

Making Your Dreams Happen!

And what about your book? Your dream? That manuscript you’ve been slaving over, and editing endlessly … well, it might just be the one.

Keep working toward it and believe in yourself.

Pursue the dreams that are worthy.

Pursue your dreams because you are worth it.

Find those critique partners who know how to push you to be your best in ways that inspire you.

Take classes or attend free meetings on craft.

Read industry blogs and craft blogs and current books.

And finally, one of the most important things you can do is give yourself permission to succeed!

This week is a big release week for Lucky Thirteeners!

Congrats to all the May 7th Luckies!
